Amouage – Dia Man is a masculine fragrance that reworks the classic chypre through an Omani lens, trading brashness for restraint. Amouage describes it as an eclectic chypre inspired by the natural wonders of Oman, and the composition holds that line from the first spray to the dry down.
The fragrance opens with bitter orange and cardamom set over frankincense and cistus-labdanum, a bright citrus edge cut almost immediately by resin and warm spice.
At its heart, plum, ylang-ylang, orris and peony bring a soft fruited-floral centre that keeps the structure elegant rather than severe.
The dry down settles into leather, white musks, patchouli, vetiver, guaiacwood and Atlas cedarwood, closing on a dry, woody base with quiet depth.
